I am Marine, the founder of Niki Coach.
I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 13, following an oophorectomy, in 1999. I therefore only have one ovary left, and I have PCOS—apparently not the ideal combination for getting pregnant! Yet, at the time, no one really explained to me the potential impact this could have on my fertility, and—perhaps it was a good thing—because I had no concerns about my ability to have children.
When I considered getting pregnant at 31, I went to see my gynecologist, who immediately suggested I take some tests. I went through the process, and during my appointment at the lab, I realized—when I understood the results—how seriously this was going to impact me. I didn’t want that, so I decided to cancel everything and try naturally first, just letting things happen. After 7 or 8 months, I wasn’t pregnant, and I started to question things.
I hadn’t realized at that moment just how much my PCOS was an issue for getting pregnant. My cycles were very irregular. I finally got pregnant at the end of September, after 9 months.
After my first pregnancy, I no longer wanted to go back on the pill. I started to take an interest in food, nutrition, and naturopathy, and I discovered quite a bit of content about the link between PCOS and lifestyle. By changing my lifestyle, I gradually got my cycles back on track. From 3 to 4 cycles a year, I went from that to a monthly cycle of about 35 days, which is still the case today.

I got pregnant quickly the second time, but I had a miscarriage, and then finally a second pregnancy a few months later.
During my naturopathy studies, I realized how much PCOS could be a barrier for many women in France in their plans to have a child. Having regular periods means ovulation, and without ovulation, pregnancy is not possible. A lifestyle that supports hormonal metabolism and helps improve cycle regularity is therefore a major lever for improving fertility in women affected by this syndrome. A part of the blog post text: PCOS and Pregnancy, My Testimony Niki, it’s a program that allows me, personally, to find my balance, and I hope it can help others too.
